Challenge
M/V Nord Maru's gangway broke at the port of Karabiga and needed to be dismantled, repaired and reinstalled, but the vessel could not simply pause: her cargo discharge operation was underway and stopping it to wait for the gangway would have cost the ship time on top of the repair itself. A broken gangway is also a safety and access issue for the crew, so the repair could not be deferred to a later port call either.
Approach
YEKE handled the dismantling, repair and reinstallation of the gangway in parallel with the vessel's ongoing discharge operations, coordinating the repair team's access around the cargo work rather than asking the port to pause it.
Outcome
The gangway repair was completed in 72 hours while M/V Nord Maru continued discharging cargo, so the ship lost no additional time to the repair beyond the work itself.
